What’s happening?

Rail

ASLEF, the train drivers’ union, has announced strike action at West Midlands Railway on Friday 5 April, and an overtime ban between Thursday 4 April and Saturday 6 April; and also Monday 8 April and Tuesday 9 April 2024

There will be no West Midlands Railway trains operating on Friday 5 April 2024.

Check with West Midlands Trains for details of affected local services and disruption to timetables during this period.

Travel will be particularly challenging in or through the Black Country on these dates, so please consider your travel options during this period. 

Other regional train operators will also strike on different days during the announced period of strike action as follows:

Avanti West Coast - Friday 5 April

Chiltern Railways - Saturday 6 April

CrossCountry - Friday 5 April

Transport for Wales Railway are not affected by strike action, for information on other UK Rail operators check with National Rail Enquires.
