Brummie comedian Barbara Nice will help raise a laugh as part of on-board entertainment for Midland Metro passengers heading to the Birmingham Weekender arts festival.
Barbara will be joined by Britain’s Got Talent singing star Lorraine Bowen and dance quintet Figs In Wigs for Tram-a-lama-ding-dong!, a series of pop-up shows on board the tram between the Birmingham Grand Central and Jewellery Quarter Metro stops on Saturday (September 23).
The performances have been organised for the Weekender by Birmingham arts group Fierce.
Cllr Roger Lawrence, lead member for transport for the West Midlands Combined Authority, which owns the Metro, said: “The Weekender is a fantastic event that attracts thousands of people from across the region.
“Public transport is the perfect way to get to it, and what better way than on the tram and being entertained at the same time?”
The on-board Metro performances will be between 3pm and 9pm and all passengers will need valid tram tickets or passes.
The Birmingham Weekender will see free outdoor theatre, music, art installations and performance by more than 600 artists throughout the city centre between Friday and Sunday (september 22-24).
