What’s happening?
The A46 is an important road link between the East and West Midlands, connecting Coventry and Warwickshire to the motorway network.
The scheme, managed by National Highways and Coventry City Council, includes building a flyover to separate local and commuter traffic at the locally-known TGI island near Binley.
Work to develop plans for Walsgrave junction, the second phase of the A46 Coventry Junctions scheme, is continuing.
A46 Binley Junction weekend closures April, May, June 2022
For six weekends there will be closures of the A46 between Binley and Toll Bar End roundabouts to allow construction teams to safely resurface the existing carriageway, which will form part of the new slip roads for the new junction.
Closures will be from 20:00 on Friday until 06:00 on Monday (With exception of the final weekend).
The work will be done in phases to minimise disruption.
Southbound
- Friday 22 April to Monday 25 April
- Friday 6 May to Monday 9 May
- Friday 13 May to Monday 16 May
- Saturday 18 June to Monday 20 June
Northbound
- Friday 20 May to Monday 23 May
- Friday 10 June to Monday 13 June
- Friday 17 June to Saturday 18 June
During the closures, diversion routes will be clearly signed through Coventry.
