A46 Binley Junction

A46 Binley Junction

Ends: 23 December 2021

Last updated: 29 November 2021

What’s happening?

The A46 is an important road link between the East and West Midlands, connecting Coventry and Warwickshire to the motorway network.

The scheme, managed by National Highways and Coventry City Council, includes building a flyover to separate local and commuter traffic at the locally-known TGI island near Binley.

Work to develop plans for Walsgrave junction, the second phase of the A46 Coventry Junctions scheme, is continuing.

In early December, 32 steel bridge beams will be lifted into place across the A428 to form a flyover. To carry out this work safely, Binley junction and both carriageways on the A46 between Tollbar and Walsgrave junctions will be closed.

The A46 and A428 will be affected and closures are as follows;

  • Friday 3 December from 20.00 to 06.00 on Monday 6 December
  • Friday 10 December from 20.00 to 06.00 on Monday 13 December
