What’s happening?
The Great Birmingham Run 10k and Birmingham Half Marathon will be taking place this Sunday 01 May.
The route will take in a number of landmarks across the city with road closures in place throughout the day.
You will still be able to get to where you need to go but you'll need to plan ahead and allow more time for your journey with diversions in place.

Travel Advice
Travelling by bus
There are bus diversions in place so please familiarise yourself with your temporary stop here.
Travelling by train
Please note that due to engineering works, buses will replace trains between Birmingham New Street and Water Orton / Coleshill Parkway from Saturday 30 April to Monday 2 May.
There will also be a bus replacement service between Birmingham New Street and Droitwich Spa on Sunday 1 May. Routes affected include:
- CrossCountry between Nottingham / Leicester and Cardiff Central
- West Midlands Railway between Lichfield Trent Valley and Redditch, and also between Birmingham New Street and Bromsgrove / Hereford
Travelling by car
There will be road closures and diversions in place. Plan ahead and check your route.

Travel tips
You will still be able to get to where you need to go, but consider the following:
