What’s happening?
Major transport improvements are happening in the east of Birmingham and Solihull area. These include:
- HS2 - Britain’s new high-speed railway
- improvements to junction 6 of the M42
- the new Sprint bus route along the A45
During the work, the way you travel in the area will change. There will be disruption to:
- junction 6 of the M42
- the A452
- the A446
- the A45
A45 East Way Loop - Bickenhill
Significant work is set to begin on this route and its adjoining slip road known as 'East Way' for the new railway which will pass under the A45 as its approaches the new interchange station.
This will require a total closure all day and all night of the ‘loop’ section that joins the
westbound carriageway of the A45 to the East Way.
The entrance to Middle Bickenhill lane will be controlled by temporary traffic lights and a fully signed diversion will be in place
Works are scheduled to take place from Monday 23 October (08:00) until Friday 24 November (18:00).
