B4438 and A452 near Northway Island

What’s happening?

Major transport improvements are happening in the east of Birmingham and Solihull area. These include: 

  • HS2 - Britain’s new high-speed railway
  • improvements to junction 6 of the M42
  • the new Sprint bus route along the A45

During the work, the way you travel in the area will change. There will be disruption to: 

  • junction 6 of the M42
  • the A452
  • the A446
  • the A45

B4438 and A452 near Northway Island

From 8pm on Friday 13 August through to 5am on Monday 16 August a variety of temporary traffic measures will be installed in the Interchange area.

There will be a temporary, weekend road closure on short sections of the B4438 and
A452 near Northway Island.

Work will affect both directions and a signed diversion route will be in place for road users during the weekend road closure.

There will be temporary changes to access to and from Birmingham Business Park with a temporary closure of the entrance and exit, along Solihull Parkway, off Northway Island. Access to the park will be maintained via Progress Way off the B4438.

Travel tips

You will still be able to get to where you need to go, but consider the following:

Plan ahead and leave more time for your journey. If you travel, you’ll need more time for your journey to take account of changes and diversions.
