M42 M6 Link Roads
As part of the wider HS2 works in the area work will be carried out on the M6/M42 link roads. This includes creating an access and egress point off the east bound link road. Preparation works will also begin for the viaducts which will cross the link roads in this location.
To undertake works safely, throughout Summer 2021 Balfour Beatty Vinci will work with Highways England to implement temporary overnight road closures on the eastbound link road. Long term narrow lanes will be in place, reducing the speed limit to 50mph. These narrow lanes will be in place for the duration of BBV’s construction programme (until 2024).
During these works there will be temporary closures of the link roads in both directions with diversion routes in place where necessary.
Plan ahead and allow more time for your journey.
If you have any questions regarding the closure, please contact the HS2 Helpdesk on 08081 434 434 or email hs2enquiries@hs2.org.uk
