What’s happening?

Major transport improvements are happening in the east of Birmingham and Solihull area. These include: 

  • HS2 - Britain’s new high-speed railway
  • improvements to junction 6 of the M42
  • the new Sprint bus route along the A45

During the work, the way you travel in the area will change. There will be disruption to: 

  • junction 6 of the M42
  • the A452
  • the A446
  • the A45

From Monday 21 February until Saturday 26 February, utility surveys will be taking place on the slip road that links the southbound carriageway of the M6 to the A446 at Junction 4.

The slip road will be closed overnight from 21:00 until 05:00.

Southbound traffic wishing to exit the M6 onto to the A446 will be diverted down to Junction 3 and return on the northbound carriageway back to Junction 4, where vehicles can exit in the usual way.
