Developing Sprint
Phase 1 of Sprint is now complete. The first phase was delivered on time and to budget and included extended bus lanes and priority signalling along the A45 and A34.
We're now moving on to Phase 2, which will complete the Sprint corridor to Walsall and Solihull. You can view the plans and have your say on Commonplace.
Working with our Local Authority Partners
We will work closeley with our Local Authority partners to coordinate construction activity to ensure that we keep disruption to a minimum. We will encourage commuters to use alternative travel options and to avoid any disruption caused.
A Traffic Regulation Order, or TRO, is the legal documentation required to make changes to the status of the highway. Informal public consultation on any proposed changes – such as those required for the Sprint Corridor – have to follow this formal, legal process before the changes can be introduced on the road itself.
It provides an opportunity for members of the public to make comments on proposals or submit a formal objection (which must include grounds for the objection). TROs are organised by the local authority area.

Working with the community
There has been significant consultation and engagement with residents, business and community groups as part of the development for the A34/A45 Sprint route. Feedback from these key groups has been taken on board and revisions to the route have been made as a result.
We are committed to providing ongoing communications and engagement with communities along the corridor, particularly during construction. Notifications will be sent out to residents and businesses up to two weeks in advance of work taking place in a particular area.
