Security Payment System Update
October 2022
Urgent customer action required
To comply with the new FCA Government FCA guidance we have made changes to our payment system to ensure all payments are as secure as possible.
This does not affect you if you pay for your travel pass by Direct Debit
Why does this need to change?
This is a change to payments taken via your Swift account, and payment service providers may require you to authenticate yourself to ensure that the payments you are making are secure.
When storing card details for future use, you must go through this authentication step as you store the card, once this is done, your card will be safely encrypted and ready to use.
What happens next?
When this change comes into effect on Saturday 15 October 2022, payments will be subjected to verification checks. This means that any stored cards will need to be updated before this time to avoid payment decline and to allow you to continue to travel.
You will notice this change across other online retail services you use, many companies may have told you about this already or will do so shortly.
What do I need to do?
- To update your stored card details, please log in to your Swift account and scroll down to payment details and add/amend your card details.
- Do this by Friday 14 October to ensure you can continue to travel.
