Trams in the West Midlands

You can travel by tram from Birmingham to Wolverhampton.
The tram stops at lots of other places in between.

West Midlands Metro

The tram service is called the West Midlands Metro.

You can use the ticket finder to find the right tram ticket for you. You can buy tickets from the conductor on the tram or use a Swift pay as you go card.

Tram stops are in four ticket zones. The zones you can travel between is based on your ticket. You can find what zones your stops are in on our online service.

On Monday to Saturday, there are trams:

  • every 15 minutes between 4.45am and 7am
  • every 6 to 8 minutes during the day
  • every 15 minutes between 7pm and 0.45am

On Sundays there are trams every 15 minutes between 7.30am and 11.45pm.

Some tram stops have free car parking.

You can also plan an alternative journey if there are disruptions to the tram.
