Manage your Swift card
You cannot make changes to your Direct Debit ticket in your Swift account. Visit Set up, cancel or update a Direct Debit to learn more.
Register your Swift card
The easiest way to manage your Swift card is to register it online.
Registering your card also helps protect the credit on your card if it is lost or stolen.
Once your card is registered, you can manage everything through your Swift account.
When you’ve registered your Swift card, you’ll be able to:
- buy or renew a ticket
- top up your Swift card
- update your personal details
- change your payment details
- manage your payment methods
- get your credit back if your card is lost or stolen
If you bought your Swift card online, it is already registered.
Simply sign in to your account to manage your card.
If you bought your card from a Payzone store or ticket machine, you will need to create an online account.
How to register your Swift card
1. Sign in to your Swift account or create a new Swift account
2. Select add a Swift card to your account under account options on your account homepage
3. Follow the instructions to add your card to your account
Cancel or pause your Direct Debit payments
You can cancel your Direct Debit online. You must cancel it at least 14 days before your next payment is due.
Pausing Direct Debit payments
If you are not using your Swift card for a while, you can pause your Direct Debit payments.
The minimum pause is 1 month and the maximum pause is 6 months.
If your payments are paused for longer than 6 months, your account will be cancelled and you will need to get a new Swift card.
To pause payments, contact Customer Services. You must do this at least 14 days before your next payment date.
Change your account details
You can update your details by signing in to your Swift account or contacting customer services.
This includes:
- your address
- your personal details
- your payment method
Check your balance
To check your balance:
- Sign in to your Swift account
- Select the card you want to view
- Hold your card against the Swift card reader
- Your balance will appear on the screen
You can also check your balance at a Swift or Metro ticket machine.
Change your ticket type
If you want to change the ticket loaded onto your Swift card, please contact Customer Services.
For example, if you want to change from train zones 1–2
Depending on the ticket change, we may need to:
- Block your existing Swift card
- Refund any remaining travel
You will then need to buy your new ticket.
Your new ticket will be sent to you on a new Swift card, which takes up to 5 working days to arrive.
