Christmas Isn’t the Same
A big sister grieving the irreplaceable sparkle her sister once brought to every festive season:
As Christmas approaches, it’s a constant reminder than you’re no longer here. Christmas used to be filled with joy and excitement, and whilst we still try to create that magic, nothing feels the same without you.
The memories we hold are bitter sweet. I’m thankful for the time we had together, but I’m angry at the world for taking you from me. It will forever feel like there is a piece of our family missing. Growing around your absence isn’t something we should ever have to do, but in that, I promise to hold space for you. To continue to say your name, save space at the table, and reminisce on the energy you brought into a room.
If there was ever someone who could grant wishes, having you here would be the only thing I’d ask for. Even if it was just for a short while.
The best sister, daughter and aunty anyone could ask for.
Merry Christmas up in heaven, sunshine girl.
Forever your big sister,
