Living for the Both of Us

A sister remembers a life stolen by reckless choices and a driver who showed no remorse:

The worst day of my life was the last day of yours. We both died that night, but my heart somehow continued to beat.

It wasn’t an “accident” that killed my brother. It wasn’t 1 mistake, 1 bad turn, 1 bad choice. Arjun died as a result of a sequence of multiple bad choices and poor manoeuvres made by an arrogant and irresponsible driver.

Losing him was the hardest thing. The events that followed added to the heartache. The lack of remorse and accountability the driver has shown in the past 5 years has been sickening.

Arjun lived for a short 19 years but left an everlasting imprint on everyone who knew him.

Here’s to living the rest of my days for the both of us, until we meet again.
