Camp Hill line stations
Three new stations on the Camp Hill Line opened to the public on Tuesday 7 April 2026 at Pineapple Road, Kings Heath and Moseley Village.
With these three brand-new stations open, these communities are connected to Birmingham City Centre for the first time since the original line closed during World War II in 1941.
Staff from Transport for West Midlands welcomed the first passengers with goodie bags on the first day of service as locals visited to get their first look at the stations and to try out the new services.
There’s a link to the line’s past with one of the stations, too, as the original Kings Heath sign was re-installed at the new railway station. The old Kings Heath sign was purchased from a private buyer, restored and is back at its rightful home at the entrance of the new station.

The Stations
Moseley Village Station
The station is on the site of its historic counterpart between Woodbridge Road and St Mary’s Row, with stair, lift access, and secure bicycle storage.
Kings Heath station
The station is located on the site of its historic counterpart, accessed from land adjacent to Kings Heath High Street.
Pineapple Road Station
Pineapple Road station is located on the site of its historic counterpart next to Cartland Road. The station will provide local drop off, ticketing and bicycle storage facilities.
The challenge - why we’re doing this
The three original stations in this area closed in 1941, during World War 2, due to coal shortages. Since then, the population of the area has grown. There’s also more commercial activity. This means more people are travelling. All this has led to traffic congestion and long journey times on the roads.
The solution - what the project will do
There will be three new stations at Moseley Village, Kings Heath and Pineapple Road. They’ll each have 2 platforms suitable for 6-car trains. The stations will also have:
- pedestrian footbridges, stairs and lifts
- ticket machines and information systems
- passenger help points on each platform
- secure bike parking
The stations at Pineapple Road and Moseley Village will also have a pick-up and drop-off area.
Shorter journey times
The new stations will make people’s journeys faster.
The estimated journey times to Birmingham New Street are:
- 14 minutes from Pineapple Road - saving 16 to 31 minutes
- 11 minutes from Kings Heath - saving 9 to 24 minutes
- 8 minutes from Moseley Village - saving 7 to 21 minutes
