Willenhall area
Pinson Road to Rose Hill
Ends: Ongoing
Last updated: 11 November 2025
What’s happening?
We're building two new railway stations along the Walsall – Wolverhampton line at Darlaston and Willenhall.
Willenhall station will provide quicker and more reliable journeys to places like Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Walsall, reducing congestion and pollution.
The station will be equipped with two platforms, lifts, ticket machines, information screens and secure bike parking.
In addition, work is being carried out throughout 2025 to create a network of improved cycling routes in the Willenhall area and along the A454 corridor.
In order to build these segregated cycle paths, a series of highway works are taking place along A454 Willenhall Road, New Road and Somerford Place.
Please check back here regularly for updates on local road closures and bus diversions in this area.
Pinson Road to Rose Hill
Work began in April 2025 to create a new 1.2km shared walking and cycle path between Pinson Road and Rose Hill /Bilston Street.
The route will connect with the Noose Lane cycle improvements currently in construction and eventually form a dedicated cycle route from Walsall to Wolverhampton.
Bilston Street:
Traffic will continue to flow one way only northbound controlled by temporary traffic signals.
The work will be completed in phases and is due to finish in March 2026.
Local signed diversion routes are in place.
Please allow more time for your journey and use our Journey Planner to check your nearest bus stop and service during these works.
