Changes to Ring & Ride and On Demand from 1 December
From 1 December 2025, the Ring & Ride and On Demand services will come together under one name: West Midlands Bus on Demand.
This change will make the service simpler and easier to use. It will still focus on care, accessibility and the drivers who support passengers every day.
You don’t need to do anything. If you are already registered, your account will continue as normal.

You will not need to re-register or make any changes.
In Coventry, the service is open to everyone.
Across the West Midlands, the service is for people who find it difficult to use public transport.
If you find public transport difficult to use, you can travel anywhere in the West Midlands.
If you are able to use public transport, you can only travel within Coventry and the surrounding areas.
This helps make sure the service is kept for the people who need it most.
You can travel up to 5 miles.

You can take up to 14 trips per week. A return journey counts as two trips.
This helps ensure everyone has a fair chance to book.
Yes. From 1 December 2025, Coventry fares will move to a flat rate.

In Coventry, older or disabled person’s travel passes will continue to give discounted fares.
Across the rest of the West Midlands, fares are already discounted, so concessionary passes are not valid.

You’ll see a mix of West Midlands on Demand minibuses and smaller 8-seater vehicles.
If you use a wheelchair, you will always be assigned an accessible vehicle.
All accessible vehicles have ramps and adjustable seating, and two wheelchair users can now travel together.
If you use a standard manual wheelchair, you do not need an assessment.
Powered wheelchairs, mobility scooters or adjusted chairs may still need to be checked to make sure they fit safely.
Yes. Drivers will continue to be trained to provide a high level of customer care and support.
All drivers have completed background and safeguarding checks.
