Support for NHS staff to cycle or walk to work

Walking, cycling or wheeling all or part of your journey to work can be a great way to make a positive start to the day.

We're here to help you take steps towards a more active commute. Here, you can find information on the support we offer and inspiration to help you get moving.

Why choose to walk, cycle or wheel to work?

Stepping out or hopping on your bike can be quicker for shorter journeys, better for your physical and mental health. This can help you to save money on fuel and parking costs.

Hospitals often have staff facilities which can be used to freshen up if you wish to do so after an active journey to work – check with your employer for more information.

Need a bit of a push? Tracking your activity and seeing your progress can make for great inspiration to keep moving, and you can team up with colleagues to set goals and challenges.

Win a fitness watch!

We're giving NHS staff the chance to win a fitness watch to help you stay motivated to cycle or walk to work.

All you need to do is tell us what you already love about cycling, walking, or wheeling, and share what motivated you to make your commute more active.
