Conservative Party Conference

The Conservative Party Conference will take place at the ICC in Birmingham, from Sunday 4 October to Wednesday 7 October 2026. 

As a result, there will be a road closure on Broad Street, Birmingham which means some bus services will be diverted from start of service Sunday 4 to Thursday 8 October 12:30pm*.

Tram services will continue to run between Wolverhampton and Edgbaston Village during this time.

For more information and travel advice, please see below. Please also allow extra time for your journey, as travelling by public transport may take longer than usual due to route diversions and disruption.

All bus services will be running; however buses that usually use Broad Street will be diverted to avoid the road closure between Oozells Way and Lyon Queensway.

From the start of service Sunday 4 October until 12:30pm on Thursday 8 October*, the following National Express West Midlands bus services will be diverted in and out of the city:

Routes 23 & 24 will use Bath Row for journeys into Birmingham and travel along Clement Street and Stephenson Street behind the library and ICC on outbound journeys.

Routes X8, 9, X10, 12 & 13 will use Stephenson Street and Clement Street on inbound journeys and Cambridge Street, St Edwards Road and Vincent Street on journeys out of the city.

Route 822 will use Five Ways Island, Islington Row Middleway, Bath Row, Holloway Head and Smallbrook Queensway for journeys into Birmingham.

Route 829 will use Oozells Way, Sheepcote Street, St Vincent Street, King Edwards Road, Cambridge Street and Lyons Queensway for journeys into Birmingham.

Routes 822 & 829 will use Great Charles Street Queensway, Sandpits Parade, Clement Street, St Vincent Street, Sheepcote St and Oozells Way on journeys out of the city.

Kev's Coaches route 10 will use Great Charles Street, Sandpits Parade, Clement Street, St Vincent Street, Sheepcote Street, Oozells Way and Broad Street on journeys towards Edgbaston. This route will use Broad Street, Oozells Way, Sheepcote Street, St Vincent Street, King Edwards Road, Cambridge Street and Lyons Queensway towards Birmingham.

Some bus stops will temporarily change. Notices will be put up at affected stops with more information.

*If the closure ends before 12:30pm on Thursday 8 October, bus services will return to Broad Street.
