Washwood Heath

In the Washwood Heath area of Birmingham, long term works to accommodate the arrival of HS2 will be ongoing and include the demolition and reconstruction of both Aston Church Road and Saltley Viaduct.

The Saltley Viaduct works will begin upon completion of the Aston Church Road works. A new bridge will be constructed to carry the high speed train over the Lawley Middleway dual carriageway.

The first area of works will be begin in the area with the creation of a brand new bridge to carry the high speed train across the dual carriageway.
