On-demand buses in the West Midlands

From 1 December 2025, there will be changes to Ring & Ride and On Demand. Find out more.

West Midlands Bus on Demand is a flexible shared bus service.

You can book a journey when you need it, rather than following a fixed timetable or route.

The service is designed for people who find it difficult to use public transport. In Coventry, anyone can use it.

How it works

  1. Book your journey using the app or by phone
  2. Choose where you want to be picked up and dropped off
  3. You may share your journey with other passengers who are travelling nearby
  4. A minibus will collect you close to your chosen time and location

Who can use it

Across the West Midlands, the service is for people who find it difficult to use public transport.

In Coventry, the service is open to everyone.

If you are able to use public transport, you can only travel within Coventry and the surrounding areas.

This helps keep the service available for those who need it most.

Accessible vehicles have ramps and adjustable seating, and two wheelchair users can travel together.

If you use a standard manual wheelchair, you do not need an assessment.

Powered wheelchairs, mobility scooters or adjusted chairs may still need to be checked to make sure they fit safely.
