Three reasons to bus it with the kids this August

Every parent has been there - on an unfamiliar journey, trying to focus on the road, wondering if there’s a way to make the summer holidays a bit more stress-free while the children shout “are we there yet?” every few minutes.

What if there was a more relaxing way to travel this summer? Well, you’re in luck. All you need to do is hop on the bus, sit back and enjoy the journey.

Here are three reasons why you should bus it with your children this summer:

Spend less time on the road and more time with them

Instead of focusing on the road, travelling by bus gives you the chance to focus on the people you care about most. Whether you’re playing games together or just having a chat, bussing it with your family this summer can guarantee less time stressed over traffic and more time spent with your loved ones.

It’s not just about the destination, it’s also about the journey. Knowing you can swap the kids’ screen time for a real adventure is what makes a bus journey special. Discover more about where the bus can take you, find hidden gems in your local area or enjoy a game of eye spy with your family and take in the surroundings together.

Children travel for free this August

Another reason to bus it with your children this summer is that travel is free for 5 to 15-year-olds on participating operators from 1 to 31 August. As part of the UK Government’s Great British Summer Savings campaign, you can make more of your summer holidays for less. There’s no need to register or book in advance, just ask your driver for free children’s travel when you board.

What’s more, you can unlock savings on several family activities this summer thanks to the campaign, including discounts on food and local attractions in the West Midlands.
