Birmingham city centre

The Cross City Bus routes require changes to the roads at key points within the Birmingham middle ring road (A4540) to enable buses to seamlessly travel from one side of the city to the other. TfWM will lead on the development of selected city centre projects, while also working in partnership with those already delivering initiatives to ensure our shared goals are reflected in their plans.

Why it's happening

The changes would speed up existing bus services and make them more reliable. By improving the reliability of buses, we can also look at introducing new longer services where you won’t need to change buses in Birmingham.

This project will also be looking at how we can make it easier to change between buses in the city centre, by moving bus stops closer together.
