Swift & Ticketing
We manage and administrate a number of public transport ticketing schemes in the West Midlands on behalf of bus, tram and rail operators covering the nbus, ntrain and nnetwork ticketing ranges and Swift Pay As You Go.
There are also a number of ticketing schemes which are managed by transport operators directly for their services.
All prices and fare levels are set by transport operators or in some cases by government legislation (e.g. regulated rail fares).

English Concessionary Travel Scheme
We also manage the English Concessionary Travel Scheme in the West Midlands for those who reach the age of entitlement or who qualify through a disability. The scheme is offered under legislation from the Department for Transport (DfT) and entitles eligible pass holders to free off peak bus travel (between 0930 and 2330 on a weekday and any time weekends or Bank Holidays) across England.
In the West Midlands this is enhanced for its card holders to cover travel until the end of daytime service during the week (beyond the legislative cut off of 2330 during the week) on any bus, train or the Midland Metro.
There are currently 537,000 card holders in the region making 75 million journeys a year.
Swift Pay As You Go
Swift is the brand we use for our transport smartcard. As well as offering a broad range of multi-operator, multi-modal season tickets on Swift, Transport for West Midlands offer a Pay As You Go scheme which can be used on virtually all buses and the tram in the region.
Customers simply top up their card with credit and use this to pay for single, return and day tickets. With Pay As You Go, customers no longer need to find the exact change before they travel, can share the card with family and friends and virtually all operators offer a discount compared to the equivalent cash fare meaning paying for travel is now cheaper and more convenient. To add to the convenience you can enable Auto Top-Up to your card to ensure you never run out of credit which is great for children so you know they can always get home. You simply link your Swift Card to your bank card and when your credit drops below £10 we automatically add credit back to your card and bill you later.
If Auto Top-Up is not for you cards and credit are available 24/7 online or over the counter at one of 8 Travel Centres or a choice of over 250 Payzone outlets.
