Sprint bus priority corridor: Phase 2
Phase 1 of Sprint is now complete. The first phase was delivered on time and to budget and included extended bus lanes and priority signalling.
Services using the corridor now benefit from enhanced bus priority measures and an improved passenger experience, including:
- more reliable, regular and predictable journey times

We're now moving on to Phase 2, which will complete the Sprint corridor to Walsall and Solihull. This work will begin in 2024.

- the further extension of bus lanes on the A45 to create one continuous bus route from Sheldon to Birmingham city centre
- improvements at the junction on the A34 between Trinity Road and Newtown Middleway
- a further 9 bus shelters in Birmingham
- moving the bus stop at the Wheatsheaf junction in Sheldon
- moving the bus stop on Old Walsall Road in Perry Barr
